Sculpt for Niece & a Request for my audience

My Niece who is 6 was drawing with me for about 4 hours and after a while wanted to know what the tablet was for and what I did on the computer. So I did this cartoonish sculpt in about 20mins (as fast as possible in case she got bored). Love my niece, she takes such interest in drawing and creating, its the only time I feel like what I do matters, when she is enjoying learning about it.

So while I realise this isn't the most pro piece to make my first post of the year. I don't care :) this ones for you Mollskin, I hope you keep that hunger and enthusiasm to learn as you grow up.

Couple of cheeky requests

1) Let me know on twitter, comments here, or facebook if you have me; some of your goals for the year, and I don't mean "new years resolutions", I mean real solid things you are going to work towards, with discipline and commitment. Maybe even tell me some you didn't achieve last year?

You see, I am in the process of planning and setting up my 'mental' year, although as always I will have to adapt it no doubt and be like water. I usually do this with everything I want to move forward in, art, weight training and life. I do feel things are taking me far longer than I am comfortable with however, and the bubble will burst sooner or later on so much study time. I just want to be the best I can be, and get paid to create, to bring people, and creatures to life in 3D, that are in the imaginations of others.

Which leads me onto request 2)

I hope the way I have been going about it since Jan 2010 is the correct course of action. I will certainly be striving to do some finished rendered piece in the coming months. However I seek your thoughts or experience on how to get skilled, and into the "art business", be it you work in 3D, or 2D mediums, traditional or digital, freelance or contract, please let me know I would also love to hear those personal accounts of how you made it happen.

I don't normally get a lot of interaction from my visitors here, but here's hoping and a thank you in advance.

Cheers and the best of fortune to you and your focus in the next 8760hrs.
And.
